Lihir Servies Australia engaged the architecture firm to deliver their new head office in the newly constructed 400 George Street, Brisbane. The fitout encompassed two floors and incorporated an innovative front of house reception and meeting area that captured the prime city views and also included interconnecting stairs and breakout spaces.
In line with the client’s strong ethic of environmental responsibility, timber was used extensively in the Lihir Services Australia project.
The ‘connection’ which unites both levels of the Lihir workplace, timber is the central element of this project.
Beginning at reception as the feature floor, American White Oak Veneer wraps down the interconnecting stair and is transformed into the ceiling feature of the large staff café area.
American White Oak Veneer is also used as the defining feature in all front of house areas – a monolithic wall entirely detailed in timber spans the length of these important public spaces and frames the spectacular views to the city and beyond.
The timber was extended to the finest level of detailing including boardroom names and door framing.
The CEO’s office and all front of house meeting room tables were also detailed in American White Oak Veneer.
